This summer, STAND is offering a dynamic lineup of classes, workshops, and intensives designed to equip, challenge, and inspire performers of all experience levels. From one-night “Workshop Wednesdays” to multi-week training opportunities in acting, dance, improv, and film, each experience is led by skilled industry professionals who are passionate about developing the next generation of artists. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your technique, explore a new area of performance, or gain real-world experience, there’s something here for you.

SUMMER CLASSES

This summer, STAND’s weekly classes offer intentional, hands-on training for both performers and families navigating the world of the arts. From high-energy improv and collaborative filmmaking to focused technique classes in acting, voice, and dance, students will grow in confidence, creativity, and skill across every discipline. With opportunities to showcase their work and gain real-world experience, these programs are designed to meet artists where they are and help them take the next step. Plus, we’re equipping parents with valuable insight through our free college and career prep sessions—because supporting the journey matters just as much as the training itself.

Short Film Project with Angel Somarriba

This summer, STAND actors will train and perform in an original short film written and directed by Angel - an award-winning short filmmaker and actor. Students will focus on the craft of acting for camera, learning: Truthful, subtle on-camera technique Professional set etiquette and collaboration. The experience concludes on August 5th with premiere party. A powerful opportunity for actors ready to grow on screen.

Teen Improv with Angel Somarriba

This high-energy class introduces students to the core principles of improv and explores why being quick on your feet, and ready in a moment’s notice, is such an essential skill for performers. Activities will prepare students for a public showcase on August 6th.

 June 4th- Aug. 6th | Thursdays | 5:00–6:00 PM | $85.00 a month (2 months)

Styles and Technique Saturday Series

Teens and Young Adults, Join us this summer for focused, high-level technique classes led by highly qualified teaching artists. These classes are designed to strengthen performers in all three disciplines while building confidence, versatility, and artistry. All classes conclude on August 8th with Mock Auditions or Video Reel.

 June 6 – August 8 (No class July 4) | Saturdays | $70.00 a month (2 months)

Saturday Schedule:

10:00–11:00 AM – Acting: character development and scene study for stage and screen 

11:00 AM–12:00 PM – Vocal: exploring all styles found in Musical Theatre performance

12:00–1:00 PM – Dance: Beginner–Intermediate ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and tap 

1:00–2:00 PM – Dance: Advanced-  ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and tap 

College and Career Prep for Parents of Aspiring Artists

Navigating college and career decisions can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. This free, two-part workshop with Renee Norris is designed to equip parents of 10th–12th graders with practical tools, insider knowledge, and clear next steps for supporting their student’s future. Whether your child is pursuing the arts or another field, you’ll gain valuable insight into the application process, auditions, scholarships, and how to confidently guide them toward the right path.
